As first reported in the NY Post, the storefront of the 2nd Avenue Deli in the Upper East Side was defaced with a graffiti swastika.

“It’s sad that people just feel the need to say they hate Jews in 2023,” one of the owners of the building was quoted as saying. “That people can just be so open about it. That Jew hatred is out there now people just feel more empowered to say it.”

The deli posted a photo and message about the hate symbol on its Instagram page. “Thank you for reminding us that we are on the right side of history,” read the post.

The restaurant has featured numerous pro-Israel images and pieces of content on social media, including the Israeli flag, since the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.
