Yanki explained that the unspeakable and unprecedented October 7th attack sent a ripple effect throughout the Charedi community. Charedim may be ready to embrace the IDF like never before.

He also provided new details and analysis about the attack, which were revealed or discovered in the past few days.

Yanki discussed the following:

How are Charedim coping with this tragedy?

Why is this attack impacting Charedim personally much more than past attacks?

Will the tremendous unity last?

Will the attack prevent the Knesset from passing a law exempting Yeshiva students from the draft?

Will thousands of Charedim enlist in the army in coming days?

Which Gedolim do the Litvishe Charedim look to for guidance right now?

Why did Charedim begin to read (kosher) internet and news sites during COVID?

In the last year of his life, Rabbi Avigdor Miller [ZTL ZYA]
was still giving public lectures,
and I attending some of those lectures.

Someone asked Rabbi Avigdor Miller:
“Should we pray for the Israeli Army?”

Rabbi Avigdor Miller immediately answered:
“If they are fighting to defend us, then we should pray for them.”

Those were his exact words;
I remember them as if they were said yesterday.

Regardless if you are a TZIYNI or not. this is not the time for dogma. this was an attack on HOME..

We all must protect ourselves, SEVEN million Jews live in Israel. they need protection, safety & security. it won’t come from Arabs, the EU. we Jews have to protect ourselves.

You don’t have to be a nationalist, or Zionist, you can be a staunchly religious, proud Cheredi and still believe that Israel needs to be defended by ALL its citizens

Learning in Yeshiva is great, Saying Tehilim is too. but physical defense is absolutely necessary. everyone understands that, now more than ever. if we still want to be able to live in Israel in 20 years from now, there is no other choice.

there might be a push for a professional army rather then forcing a bunch of young shnooks to serve, that might have played a role in the sloppy job the military did on every level during the attack
