(VINnews) — Candace Owens, who has an ugly history of supporting anti semitism, posted a lengthy rant on Instagram this week, in which she blasted America’s support for Israel and accused “political Jews” of creating anti-Semitism.

The Daily Wire host accused Jews of fueling antisemitism, compared some Jews to BLM, and seemed to equate Israeli hostages with Palestinian children who grow up with “the threat of bombs being dropped” around them.
It should be noted that the leadership at Daily Wire has defended keeping Owens on their platform, saying that every host has freedom of speech, and they do not cancel, fire, or censor others because of their views.
However this is a weak defense, because freedom of speech does not require an employer to allow their employee to spew vicious hatred and antisemitism. Would DW allow Louis Farrakhan, Ilhan Omar, Kanye West or even Barack Obama to host a show, in the name of freedom of speech? Just because Owens happens to be a black conservative, does not justify giving her a platform to spread hatred.
On Wednesday, Owens shared a post from Daily Wire host Matt Walsh raging against foreign aid. She then weighed in with the following: “I grew up in a town that had a large Jewish community. For whatever reason my best friends throughout my childhood and early adulthood were always Jewish,” She then mentioned her personal connections to the Jewish community, having nannied for a Jewish family in Manhattan and working for two Jewish men at a private equity fund.
“So why am I telling you this? Never once in all of those years, ever, did I hear ANY of those people accuse others of being antisemitic or a “Jew Hater”.
“That all changed when I got into politics and met what I would describe as political Jews–who operate almost exactly like Black Lives Matter.
“These people-regarding which they are a small, fringe faction, are some of those most vile, dishonest, manipulative people that I have ever met. Under the guise of fighting antisemitism, they actually create it.”
It should be noted that accusing Jews of fueling anti-Semitism is a classic anti-Semitic trope, and echoes comments made by Owens several months ago.
Owens continued her rant: “Just as Black Lives Matter radicals would threaten and intimidate white people’s lives by constantly smearing and libeling people into submission, these radicals do the same.”
“BLM ultimately hurt the black community. The Jewish fringe are hurting the Jewish community by misrepresenting who they are,” she continued, before focusing on Israel:
“My political philosophy has always been that we should not be using taxpayer dollars to support foreigners. I am therefore against the welfare programs for illegal immigrants. I’m against illegal immigration as a whole as it burdens taxpayers. I was against sending money to Afghanistan and Ukraine and therefore I am, of course, against sending a single dime to Israel.
“America is a country that is trillions dollars in debt. Why on earth are we sending money to a nation that has less debt than us?” she continued, adding: “This is common economic sense. Not antisemitism.”
“Ultimately what this particular fringe group of radical jewish people are, are thugs and marxists. They want power, and they are willing to harm their Jewish peers to get it.”
“Have the courage to call these people out. To my jewish friends: you are not a monolith. You do not have to support their Marxism or believe their nasty lies.”
Owens concluded by saying she hopes all the Israeli hostages are “found” and that “I also cry and mourn for the little children in Palestine who are growing up with the threat of bombs dropped on them every day.”
Owens has a long history of controversial and outlandish rhetoric including saying Adolf Hitler’s “nationalism” inside Germany was “fine”, defending the sale of “Mein Kampf”, and justifying her stance against Israel by accusing Charedi Jews of being anti-Zionist.
The question is, will Ben Shapiro (who, to his credit, has feuded with Owens in the past) call out his colleague for fueling hatred against Jews?
If by “political Jews” she means the secular self-hating Bernie-Sanders-type Jews, then she’s absolutely right that they hurt us more than they help us.
I will mention she supports people like noam chomsky and norman finkelstien as well as being a supporter neutei karta. She is on the side of the marxist antisemitic antizionist jews. These are her supposed jewish “friends”. Considering the antisemite she is then why say marxist? Well it is because antisemites like to accuse jews of whatever poltical ideology they are against. If it is capatlism then say that if marxism say that, even though marxist jews that actually support communism are on the side of hamas and support a ceasefire to keep hamas in place. Then she went about calling the hostages lost as if they were not kidnapped her support of terror is awful.
She has definitely gone off the rails.
But I do agree with her that sometimes we do create Antisemitism (not to “manipulate” the world but by acting in ways that are off putting to many Non-Jews).
Perhaps one can disagree with them but what was illegitimate about her points?

This article quotes her as stating that “my best friends were always Jewish”. I love when I hear that, as a defense. I remember when Pat Buchanan was in the same situation, and he stated that “his accountant was Jewish”.
I believe she is antisemitic based on other things she said, but nothing in this article proves she is.
I listened to the clip you provided, and I find nothing anti-Semitic about it. Perhaps there’s more that you did not provide.

The only real reason it seems that she is there is a) they really messed up on their contracts and they don’t want to pay her outright(This is only valid if they don’t renew their contract with her, it is also not a great defense both ethically or morally only practically). B) Candace is intentionally putting out this garbage to get on Tucker Carlson’s media business(planning to defame her previous employer(dw), and say more antisemitic garbage to a wider audience), and the daily wire in an attempt to limit her reach decided to let the contract run it’s course. (This only applies if they don’t renew her contract with them.) B) would be the best option as which is worse her with tuckers audience of 100 million or her current audience of 1 million people who have access to hosts that contradict her junk on a news service site that runs against her anti zionist narratives which is antisemitism both in articles and podcasts. She is the only anti semitic host on the site and Walsh has referred to hamas as terror organization. If it is not for two reasons above then there is definitive problem in the daily wire and it needs to do more on anti semitism.
So basically this “article” validates most, if not all, Ms. Owen’s points.

Why is this anti-Semitic? She is stating an opinion that she has about Jews who she thinks are immoral and power-hungry and she specifically states that she loves Jews overall. She is calling for Jews to over power the bad people.

Groups like the ADL cheapen the term “AntiSemite” by accusing anyone they don’t like, politically, with the term for words said that have to be twisted and out of context to be deemed to be judeophobic. This is similar to how various pro-black groups have cheapened the word ‘Racist’ by applying it to anyone they don’t like, politically.

The world is not centered on Jews. Candace Owens is not anti Semitic. She has her beliefs which she is consistent on. She believes victimizing yourself is bad, she puts America first. Maybe you don’t agree with her but that doesn’t make her anti Semitic. She is definitely right that Jews scream anti semitism way too often. Someone can disagree with Jews and that doesn’t make them bad.
I would like to know why equating hostages afraid for their lives with kids who are also afraid for their lives is wrong? Kids do not deserve to die because of their parents.
I also wonder why you don’t care one bit about non Jews that die but expect non Jews to care about Jews that die. Or why would you not at least express sympathy for any innocent Palestinian victims?
