The prime minister today said, ‘I heard a claim that I said that ‘Haaretz’ and ‘The New York Times’ are Israel’s biggest enemies. That’s not true. Iran and its emissaries are the enemies of Israel’.”

“The Jerusalem Post” editor Steve Linde told a conference in Tel Aviv of the Women’s International Zionist Organization (WIZO) on Wednesday, that Netanyahu made the remark to him about the newspapers at a private meeting “a couple of weeks ago” at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tel Aviv.

In a recording of Linde’s speech provided to the “JTA”, Linde said, “He said, ‘You know, Steve, we have two main enemies.’ And I thought he was going to talk about, you know, Iran, maybe Hamas. He said, ‘It’s The New York Times and Haaretz.’ He said, ‘They set the agenda for an anti-Israel campaign all over the world. Journalists read them every morning and base their news stories … on what they read in The New York Times and Haaretz’.”

    They certainly are our enemies.

Whether he said it or not is debatable, that they both are the enemies of the State of Israel is beyond any doubt, whatsoever.

They are not the “main” enemies – just enemies.

Netanyahu is his own worst enemy.
Were he to declare proudly that “G-d Alm-ty gave us ‘Eretz HaKodesh’ and started thinking and acting like a REAL JEW, then his enemies would ‘melt in front of him.’
Of course, so many of us enjoy pointing fingers at others.
Look at what he said at ‘The U.N.’ about ‘The Lubavitcher Rebbe, MH”M.’ He was busy calling ‘The U.N.’ a ‘House of Darkness,’ while he himself, after visiting ‘The Rebbe’ never listened to him.
‘The Rebbe’ clearly said that if you can’t protect your people (Because of the pressures) in ‘Eretz Yisroel’ then leave office.

i do read haaretz everyday and always just cannot believe how a jewish newspaper can allow people like amira haas ,gideon levy ,akiva eldar, write one a regular base article against there own people. never never something positive to say .
i guess if it atracts comments and hits thats all haaretz cares about.

    Sometimes you condemn with praise:

” ‘I heard a claim that I said that ‘Haaretz’ and ‘The New York Times’ are Israel’s biggest enemies. That’s not true. Iran and its emissaries are the enemies of Israel’.”

Kind of sounds like Iran is the biggest enemy and NYT and Haaretz are close second and third. 🙂
