James Molinaro, 76, was “resting comfortably” at a hospital, spokeswoman Pat Wilks said.
Molinaro wasn’t feeling well after a boardwalk press conference with Sen. Charles Schumer and was driven to Staten Island University Hospital, where it was determined he had suffered the heart attack, Wilks said. He had surgery to correct the problem, she said.
Molinaro, a conservative, began serving his first term as borough president in January 2002, succeeding Guy Molinari. [1010wins]
