“There are reports that the Israeli soldier held by Hamas was injured in one of the Air Force strikes,” the report said, quoting a website affiliated with Hamas.

Defense officials said in response that the report was a foreseen manipulation, and that the Shalit family was asked to prepare for it on the eve of the Israel Defense Forces operation.

The report was later published on other websites, and was also mentioned in one of the Islamic sites.

According to the initial wording, “There are reports that Zionist soldier Gilad Shalit was injured in one of the Air Force strikes in Gaza.” There were no details on Shalit’s condition or on the source of the report.

Sources in Hamas told several media outlets on Sunday that Shalit had been injured, but refused to elaborate on the circumstances of the incident.

Senior members of the Popular Resistance Committees and Hamas’ military wing, who took part in Shalit’s abduction, refused to confirm this information. Sources in Hamas told Ynet that the rumor began spreading in the evening hours, and that it may be part of psychological warfare.

Sources in the Strip estimated recently that at a certain stage of the Israeli offensive Hamas would report that Shalit had been injured, although the estimations referred to a later stage in the attack.

Gilad Shalit was kidnapped into the Gaza Strip 918 days ago.

The IDF released a statement on Monday saying that “Gilad Schalit is a valuable asset for Hamas. We believe it will do everything to keep him alive.”

Israeli officials and the IDF on Monday questioned the reliability of reports by the Al-Jazeera network and Egyptian media that captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit was injured in an IAF strike on the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptians don’t even know where Hamas hid him. They just want to scare the Israelis.

I hate to say it but when was the last time we got back someone alive? He was probably dead the minute those murderous pigs captured him.

I&#8 217;m afraid I agree with #8 . Who knows if he has been alive at all this whole time? They havent allowed any humanitarian groups in to see him like Red Cross or Amnesty International. So we have no proof he&#8 217;s even alive except Hamas&#8 217; word &#8 211; which counts for nothing. Hashem Yishmor. His family should have closure either way.

And what if he is, it’s too late now. Continue on bombing, don’t let them distract you.

I am sure this is just more of the arab bull manure. They want to play with the minds of the Izzys b/c they know one day they’ll have to give him back so they are “protecting” themselves.

I hope and pray that Gilad is alive and well and we should continue praying for him; but, I am afraid that they’re just setting up an indisputable argument for themselves and will be able to blame Israel if they end up trading his body for more terrorists. They will point their fingers and say “We kept him alive and it was you that killed him!”. Regardless of how obvious and staged it may be, the anti-semitic world will readilly buy into this propaganda and make Israel and the Jews out to be cruel to the point that they convince themselves that we are willing to kill civilians without regard for human life, even a fellow Jew’s. Oh, how easy it easy for the hate-filled world to blame the Jews and to allow themselves to be so blind to the truth. We need to continue killing and destroying all of the anti-semitic murderers without fail, not leaving even one alive, and praying that Hashem will bring the ultimate geula speedily in our days.
