Speaking at Barnert Temple in New Jersey on Sunday, Menendez barely addressed his legal woes, but focused on negotiations with Iran regarding a nuclear program and how the security of the U.S. and Israel is at risk, reports the New York Times (http://nyti.ms/1C1S2FI).
The New Jersey Democrat is currently at the center of an investigation regarding his relationship with Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye surgeon, who Menendez has taken money from and who is alleged to have influenced the senator to take actions in government to benefit Melgen. Menendez has denied any wrongdoing.
Despite the legal allegations, Menendez’s criticism of talks with Iran has garnered support from the Jewish community. Advocacy groups concentrating on Israel’s security have backed the senator – leaders from Aipac, an Israel advocacy group, have contributed funds to his legal defense and have asked other groups to contribute as well. By the end of last year, Menendez’s legal fund was more than $200,000.
Funds were also contributed from political donors who had also donated to pro-Israel political action committees.
President of the Zionist Organization of America Morton A. Klein supports Menendez and is asking others to support him too. Norm Coleman, a board member of the
Republican Jewish Coalition and a former senator himself, said Menendez could depend on support from those who “care about Israel.”
his troubles were made by Holder since he is angry that he opposes Obamas Iran plan.
He will be replaced by a Republican which carries two major benefits:
1) One more Republican and one less democrete in the Senate brings us one step closer to veto proof repealing of the evil Jew-hater’s excesses, Obamacare being the most important one.
2) He will be at least as pro-Jews as Menendez because Republicans almost inevitably are.
Thank you for being decent to Jews, Mr. Menendez, and sorry that the greed took better of your judgement as it so often happens to liberals. You will be replaced by a better man.
