Other charges under deliberation are second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide, reports the New York Post (http://bit.ly/1DjXucy). The six major suspects in the investigation are Maria Hrynenko, the landlord of the building; her son, Michael Hrynenko Jr.; Bronx contractor Dilber Kukic, who was at the building when the blast happened with Michael Jr.; an unidentified subcontractor and two workers.

It’s alleged that the explosion was caused by an illegally tapped gas line, which a plumber confessed on Monday to illegally tapping at the request of Michael, Jr. (http://bit.ly/1IsxW06).

Officials stated Tuesday that authorities do not know yet if a deal will be cut with the plumber for his testimony, or if his statements will be used against him.

Charges aren’t expected for about a month as prosecutors plan to present evidence to a grand jury.

Licensed master plumber Andrew Trombettas is under investigation for selling use of his license so someone else could work at the building, and may face charges of falsifying business records. Trombettas got a permit last year to do gas-line work in the building.

Nicholas Figueroa, 23, who was killed in the explosion, was laid to rest Tuesday. Also killed in the blast was 27-year-old Moises Locon.
